Animated version of The Time Keeper, by Anna Riphahn.
This is an animated version of The Time Keeper, by Anna Riphahn. She wrote and illustrated this book while in middle school, where it won first place in a picture book contest and was then published. When Anna was 17, she tragically lost her life in a car accident.
I was approached by friends of Anna's family, who wanted to make a lasting tribute of Anna's work. After hearing her story, and then reading her book, I was inspired to be a part of this wonderful project.
The illustrations and layouts are all from Anna's original artwork which I had to deconstruct for this animation. I had to retouch areas where design was lost due to my separating characters from the background, but for the most part, this is all Anna's artwork.
Paul Epp and Benet Braun composed and orchestrated the music.
The narration of the story was performed by Ashley Moniz Braun.
Below are some of the original scans of Anna’s artwork that I used to create the animation. She was a very talented writer and illustrator. It amazes me that she did all this while in middle school!
